three kids enlist a spaceship crew of aliens to help them find a missing dad. Art Allbright (Sandy Robson), a father of three, has been missing for five years when his older son, Rod (Jayden Greig); niece Elspeth (Lauren McNamara); and their friend Mickey (Sean Quan) set out to discover his whereabouts. Enlisting the help of Principal (played by Bruce Coville, author of the book series the movie is based on) and his alien crew, the kids discover that Allbright has been frozen in a moment of time by galactic bad guy B'kr (Ty Consiglio). They'll try anything -- including temporarily shifting Rod's brain into Elspeth's body --to save Art, putting their lives in danger along the way.
